Ex-minister joins Cong

Former minister E C Boniface Bamon who had in 2017 resigned from the NPP has today joined the Congress.
Bamon was welcomed to the party at the Congress Bhavan here where he was formally accepted by State Congress president Celestine Lyngdoh, working president, James S. Lyngdoh, MLA Shitlang Pale and other party leaders.
Bamon, a close aide of former Lok Sabha Speaker Purno A. Sangma, was a minister in the MPA government from 2008 to 2009.
He was also a founding member of NPP. He quit the party in 2017 after being denied ticket to contest the 2017 Assembly elections.
Bamon was also the former chief executive member of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
