Senior IAS officer robbed of jewelleries

Shillong, Jan 17: A senior IAS officer in the State has been robbed of several jewelleries worth several lakhs of rupees.
Chinmay P. Gotmare, Additional Secretary, Government of Meghalaya lodged a complaint to police that on January 14 at around 1:20 pm, miscreants broke into his residence at Kench’s Trace here.
The miscreants stole gold bangles weighing 5.27 grams, gold chains weighing 40 grams, 25 grams and 15 grams, gold chain with pendant weighing 13 grams, gold coins weighing 25 grams and 10 grams, gold earrings weighing 8 grams, other gold items weighting 10 grams, silver wire and silver goods weighing 600 grams and cash of Rs 15,000.
He also said that the cost of the stolen goods is around Rs 7 lakh.
Police have launched an investigation into the case. So far no one has been arrested in connection with the theft.
