FKS awaiting conclusion of treaty terms

Shillong, Dec 1: The Federation of Khasi States (FKS) is awaiting the central conclusion to the IOA & AA to ensure effective protection of the indigenous tribes of Meghalaya.
“A conclusion of the treaty terms of the IOA & AA under a Special Article within the Constitution of India incorporating the treaty terms of the Instrument of Accession and Annexed Agreement agreed and signed between the Government of India and the Federation of Khasi States on August 17, 1948 is the only way to address the constant conflict and apprehensions of fear from central laws such as Citizenship Amendment Bill and other legislature imposed over the customary laws of the Khasi and Garo tribes of Meghalaya,” FKS adviser and spokesperson, John F. Kharshiing said today.
